چکیده

Recently developed experimental and numerical environments have helped breathe life into the various control theories found in textbooks and have thereby greatly changed the educational experience of students of automatic control. Nonlinear balance beams, inverted pendulums, and distributed parameter thermal systems are now widely available for hands-on experimentation. Many students react quite positively to this additional dose of realism. Because the models selected for such experiments are usually accurately described by relatively simple differential equations, the laboratory experience reinforces both the textbook analysis and the value of numerical simulation. At the same time, there is a growing realization among educators and employers that students of automatic control should be encouraged to think of the subject in broader terms. The systems approach should embrace communica-

Hybrid Dynamic Modeling And Control Of Constrained Manipulation Systems - IEEE Robotics & Automation Magazine

Discrete event systems are presented as a powerful framework for a large number of robot control tasks. This paper presents a general description of the discrete event modeling and control synthesis for robot manipulation. Additionally, methods for the effective monitoring of the process based on the detection and identification of discrete events are given. The effectiveness and versatility of...

Your Magazine (From the Editor) - Control Systems Magazine, IEEE

Surely, you’ve read in-flight magazines, even when you’ve had work to do. Articles on fascinating subjects such as the science of laughter and the world’s best concierge are hard to resist. But suppose you’d tucked the magazine you’re now reading into the seat pocket in front of you and then inadvertently abandoned it upon reaching your destination. What chain of events might such an oversight ...

Introduction to networking for integrated control systems - IEEE Control Systems Magazine

An integrated control system has disparate and spatially distributed subsystems interconnected via a common communication channel. Digital data from sensor to controller and from controller to actuator are multiplexed along with traffic from other control loops and management functions. The asynchronous time-division multiplexing introduces time-varying and possibly stochastic delays in the con...

Hybrid Control to Approach Chaos Synchronization of Uncertain DUFFING Oscillator Systems with External Disturbance

This paper proposes a hybrid control scheme for the synchronization of two chaotic Duffing oscillator system, subject to uncertainties and external disturbances. The novelty of this scheme is that the Linear Quadratic Regulation (LQR) control, Sliding Mode (SM) control and Gaussian Radial basis Function Neural Network (GRBFNN) control are combined to chaos synchronization with respect to extern...

Stability of networked control systems - IEEE Control Systems Magazine

IEEE Control Systems Magazine February 2001 Feedback control systems wherein the control loops are closed through a real-time network are called networked control systems (NCSs) [1]-[4]. The defining feature of an NCS is that information (reference input, plant output, control input, etc.) is exchanged using a network among control system components (sensors, controller, actuators, etc.). Fig. ...
